Man arrested for McDonalds robbery

ACT Policing has arrested a 27-year-old West Australian man following a robbery of the McDonalds restaurant in Fyshwick last night (February 8).

About 7.29pm the alleged offender entered the restaurant on Newcastle Street and immediately walked behind the counter and grabbed a female attendant by the arm and demanded money.

The victim opened the till and the man removed a small amount of cash. The victim was unharmed during the incident.

The man fled the scene in a taxi which was parked out the front of the store.

AFP Forensic Services attended and conducted an examination of the crime scene.

Around 10pm police located the alleged offender at a bottle shop in Kingston where he was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House.

The alleged offenders will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (February 9) charged with robbery.
